The ABO blood group system is based on the A and B antigens found on red blood cells. The Rh system is based on the D antigen.
There are four ABO blood types: O, A, B, and AB.

Anti-A, Anti-B, and Anti-A,B reagents are used to identify the ABO blood type, while Anti-D reagents determine whether the blood is Rh positive or Rh negative.
